We changed our AI program name. Here’s why.

This is not a hard launch. No bubbles. No drama. Not even sure we’ll remember this date in the future.
I do want you to know, though!

Marketing Power Circle (MPC) is now AI Power Circle (AIPC).
Same program.
Same audience.
Same Wednesday afternoon energy.
New name.

That’s it. That’s the rebrand.

Since I’m a marketer who literally wrote a book called UNboring, I owe you the story behind it. And honestly, it’s a useful one if you’re a founder wrestling with when to evolve your own brand.

The name that made sense at the time

When I started this mastermind in 2023, it was a marketing group. We were a small circle of founders helping each other figure out content, outreach, positioning - the usual stuff that keeps you up at midnight writing proposals you should’ve delegated three months ago.

“Marketing Power Circle” made perfect sense. It described what we did and who we were.

Then something shifted.
The members pulled us somewhere better
The decision to pivot to AI came from my members, not me.

Session after session, the conversations that generated the most energy - the ones where people leaned in, shared screens, and stayed late - were about AI. How to build a proposal workflow with a custom GPT. How to repurpose one podcast episode into a week of content without losing their voice. How to stop drowning in inbox triage.
They were asking for systems that bought back their time.

So we followed the signal.
We leaned into AI implementation.
The group became, functionally, an AI mastermind with a marketing name.

When your name starts working against you

I kept the old name for a while. Partly out of affection - it was the original thing, and I’m sentimental about origin stories.

But I started hearing a version of this from prospective members: “I’ve already invested heavily in my marketing. Is this still right for me?” The name was creating a filter I didn’t intend. People who were exactly right for the group - founders with established businesses who wanted AI to multiply their capacity - were self-selecting out because they thought they’d outgrown what we offered.

They hadn’t. The name just told them the wrong story.

So we’re doing what the community asked for - again

The first time, our members told us to go deeper on AI. We listened. This time, the signal came from the edges - from the right-fit founders who almost didn’t join because the name misled them. I ran it by the members of course. And they agreed.

AI Power Circle is the name that matches what this program actually delivers - practical AI implementation, in a small group of founders who hold each other accountable, with real workflows you can ship the same week.

The bigger lesson (the one I almost missed)

Here’s what I want other founders to take from this… Your brand name is a signal. And signals decay.
A name that perfectly described your business two years ago might be quietly repelling the people you most want to serve today. There’s nothing wrong with the name. You’ve just evolved past it.

The tell isn’t that people complain about your name. It’s that the wrong people show up - or the right people don’t.

I spent months in 2024 consulting other marketers. Some said keep it (Marketing Power Circle). Some said change it (to AI Power Circle). One made a compelling case that “AI” in the name would feel dated once AI becomes ambient infrastructure - like putting “internet” in your company name in 2005.

Maybe.

But we’re three years into the generative AI wave. Adoption is following a similar curve to online banking, which took twenty years before banks had to physically take passbooks out of people’s hands. We’re nowhere near the end of the “AI is a differentiator” window. And if the landscape does shift in 3-5 years? A name change is a Tuesday afternoon project, not an existential crisis.

So we’re not overthinking it. We’re doing what our community taught us - follow the signal, move fast, keep it simple.

What hasn’t changed (everything that matters)

Same bi-monthly rhythm. Same investment. Same intimate group where you actually get airtime. Same obsession with AI workflows that save you 10+ hours a week. Same commitment to outreach over funnels, strategy over hype, and building systems that work for real businesses with real constraints.

And still me, still hosting, still building personalized tools live in the room while you watch.
Only, now with a name that fits us better.

If you’ve been curious about the program, this is a clean starting line.

If you’re a founder running a service business with a small team (1-10), you’re already using AI but it’s creating meaningful ROI yet, and you want structured support to change that - this is the room.

We meet every second and fourth Wednesday at 12:30 EST.
